Vokey Design

Progressive CG
The SM9 wedges feature a progressive center of gravity (CG) in all lofts that optimizes ball flight, accuracy and forgiveness. By using tapered top lines and varying hosel lengths, the Vokey R&D team has raised the height of the CG in the higher lofts, promoting a lower, more controlled flight. The center of gravity is also forward of the clubface, resulting in increased MOI, exceptional feel and a clubface that just wants to stand up at impact.

Spin Milled Grooves
The SM9's patented Spin Milled Grooves are carefully engineered through a new cutting process to maximize spin and durability. The process begins by cutting the clubface perfectly flat with a high-speed saw. Then each groove is cut individually depending on the loft and finish; low lofts (46°-54°) are cut with narrower, deeper grooves, while higher lofts (56°-62°) have wider, shallower grooves.

Micro-grooves are cut between the grooves to maximize spin on controlled shots. A special heat treatment has been applied to the sweet spot area that doubles the durability of the grooves without compromising feel, making them the most durable grooves in golf.
